I wander down the path
Armed with a walkie-talkie
Ready to climb and explore
And she trots along behind me

I break by a waterfall
The table placed ages ago
Holds the food which I eat
And she lays in a pool near me

I wander up the waterfall
I wander back again
Armed with a stick and curiosity
But she is never far from me

My dog and me
Wander along the stream
Muddied when we return
I clean myself and then her

While my parents are sure worried
I am never afraid
I have my protector with me
And we'll protect each other every day
A poem about my dog who died ten years ago. She was a very good pup and grew up with me. My mom had gotten her as a puppy only a few months before I was born and so she protected my siblings and looked out for us. We were all little explorers of the nearby woods and rivers so this is a poem of our adventures.
